London Craft Week 12-18 May 2025

  • WAX Atelier Labs Stoke Newington Church Street London, England, N16 United Kingdom (map)

As part of London Craft Week (12–18 May), WAX Atelier presents The Lost Rosarium of Abney—an immersive exhibition of lifelike, fragrant wax roses that reimagine the long-lost botanical wonders of Abney Park.

Blending heritage, craft, and contemporary design, the exhibition offers a poetic meditation on memory, loss, and renewal. Once home to a flourishing rosarium with over 1,000 rose varieties, Abney Park was shaped by the vision of 19th-century horticulturist George Loddiges, who transformed the site into a living archive of rare and exotic plants.

Though time has erased much of his legacy, traces remain in the landscape. Through sculpture, chandlery, and scent, WAX Atelier brings these vanished blooms back to life—capturing their delicate essence in wax.

The exhibition takes place at WAX Atelier Labs, our studio located in the heart of Abney Park, and is accompanied by a series of hands-on workshops. Visitors are invited to craft a wax linen flower or explore wax-etched printing across paper and ceramic—deepening their connection to the materials, processes, and stories that shape our practice.
