Indigo + Persimmon Kabuto Light
Indigo + Persimmon Kabuto Light
The Kabuto Plug-in Light is inspired by the elegant forms of palm species found in London’s Kew Gardens’ Palm House.
Crafted from layers of pressed mulberry paper, each light is hand-dyed with natural indigo or persimmon fruit and finished with a durable beeswax and carnauba wax polish, resulting in a subtle satin texture.
Designed by British/Vietnamese designer & artist Lola Lely, and manufactured by WAX Atelier. This limited-edition lamp adds an artful, botanical touch to interiors.

About the Artist
Lola Lely is a London-based artist, designer, and maker, born in Hanoi, Vietnam, and raised in London and Kent.
Her work is deeply process-driven and narrative-based, often culminating in events or communal experiences rather than just finished products.
Through collaborations with underrepresented communities, Lola uses traditional craft as a means for skill-building, mentorship, and empowerment, merging artistry with social impact to create spaces for connection and growth.
She is the co-founder of WAX Atelier and WAX Atelier Labs, a community-focused social enterprise.
Inspired by the rivers of Northern Vietnam and the waves of Japan, our seasonal collection INDIGO: Land, Water, Heaven celebrates the artistry of indigo dyeing and traditional wax craft. Drawing from these Eastern landscapes, each candle style evokes a sense of place and serenity, blending contemporary design with heritage techniques.
